About HFSA
Haiti Food System Alliance (HFSA) is a coalition of 15+ Haitian organizations dedicated to reshaping Haiti’s food systems through collaboration, innovation, and long-term investments.
We work across four pillars — research, training, production, and feeding — to create an inclusive, resilient, and sustainable food system rooted in Haitian leadership.
What began as an informal collaboration has now become a formalized movement delivering measurable, system-wide impact.
Our mission is to bring lasting economic change to farming families and rural communities across the country.
Our Journey
Foundations
2013: The W.K. Kellogg Foundation launched the Haiti Peer Learning Network (HPLN) to connect its grantees and partners in Haiti.
2014: Acceso partnered with AZA and Zanmi Agrikol to produce Nourimanba, a fortified peanut butter to treat child malnutrition.
2015: At a national convening, members mapped out Haiti’s income-generation ecosystem and emphasized reconnecting dignity to farming.

Formalization
- Spring: After years of informal collaboration, HPLN meetings led to the formal creation of HFSA.

In September 2020, I launched FFH Entreprise Agricole with one mission in mind: to train young students in both the theory and practice of agriculture. I wanted to help them build something real. Today, these students, aged 12 to 14, are growing their own vegetable gardens and running their own small businesses.
We use recycled materials, agro-ecological methods, and organic fertilizer produced from local waste. We've even adopted drip irrigation to boost our yields while keeping costs low.
Currently, we're working in six schools and orphanages, and the Haiti Food System Alliance has been a crucial partner in helping us scale. Their support allows us to expand our reach and ensure that the next generation grows up with farming in their hands and in their hearts. This is how we will build a stronger, self-sufficient Haiti.
